Minimus Tiny House
In 2017 I embarked on my greatest work of art to date. I dared to live out my childhood dream of building my own home. Totally disenchanted by the harsh environmental impact, personal energetic output and financial drain involved in building and maintaining a conventional home, I chose to take an alternative path and build a 240sq.ft off-grid tiny house on wheels from repurposed, renewable and recyclable materials. I embarked on this journey with no budget or funding and with no experience as a builder or engineer. I chose to lean wholeheartedly into my creative super-powers and unshakeable faith in my dream. And guess what? I did it!
How I did it…
I chose to not only build Minimus for my personal benefit but instead as a public demonstration in sustainable building and living at Delaware Valley University. I made the entire build visible and open to the public to come out and learn and participate. I am forever grateful for the lessons learned in the process and for the tremendous amount of support I received from family, friends, local businesses and community members that helped make Minimus possible. Minimus is an ideal sustainable education tool with all the comforts of home in a tiny space. She harvests and stores all the natural resources I need on a daily basis and is a continuous reminder to remain connected to nature, mindful of our resources and that we can make our dreams our reality.
